Dredging Works

Dredging is the excavation of material from a water environment for lowering the seabed or removing the silt deposited to achieve the water depth required for safe navigation of marine vessels.

Dredging of soft deposits is undertaken with a dredging pump (electric or hydraulic driven) while in hard strata it may be necessary to first break up the formation using underwater hydraulic impact hammers or by chiselling. Ammico owns various types of electric and hydraulic dredging pumps as well as state of the art hydraulic impact hammers specially tailored for underwater operations.

Ammico has undertaken dreading both for lowering of seabed adjacent to berthing structures as well as for removal of sediments under dry docks.
