





Marine Facility at Old Doha Port
In response to the growing number of tourists arriving by cruise ships, the Ministry of Transport and Communications initiated measures to enhance passenger disembarkation and entry processes. The project scope included deepening of the existing navigation channel and maneuvering area, as well as the construction of the Mina Cut Basin.
Ammico’s scope of work on the project comprised the supply and installation of boat ramp piles, boat hoist piles, and marina pontoon piles.
The following works were undertaken by Ammico:
Installation of shoring with pile diameters 1200mm and 1500mm with total shoring length of 350m
Twenty-eight number bored cast-in-situ R.C.C. piles of 800mm diameter with permanent casing
Excavation of basin to required level (35000m3)
Construction of RCC capping beam
Precast panels (casting and installation)
Cast in-situ white concrete floor slab
Reinforced concrete stairs
Installation of lights for the staircase, under water recessed lights on the precast panel wall and under water lights at basin floor
Dismantling of 30m quay wall and flooding the basin
Installation of navigation aids and mooring buoys
